For this week’s Advice!, we turned to Julie Anne Rhodes who owns The Roving Stove® Personal Chef Service in Los Angeles. Also a mother, blogger, food activist, former model and actress once married to Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, Julie Anne definitely knows something about maintaining a busy life while still enjoying it.

So, The CIX asked: ‘Tis the season to be overwhelmed by the holidays. So what’s your advice on how everyone can make sure that they still enjoy the season?

Julie Anne Rhodes answered: Keep your expectations of yourself and others realistic. We strive for that romanticized ideal of the perfect holiday, and in the process stress ourselves out so much that it becomes impossible to achieve. Think about doing less, and enjoying more. (Now for the obligatory plug, but it is 100% true) Applying the Personal Chef Approach to your holiday celebrations means you’ll have the time to actually enjoy your own party, plus dinners will be one less thing to worry about during this hectic season.
